I ran this along with Barry Pilling and Jon Petrie for about a year between March ’09 and March ’10.
Popcorn is a Time Out ‘Critic’s Choice’ monthly comedy/film night where comedians and filmmakers introduce and try out their own short films in front of a live audience. Alongside this, there’s also live sketch and stand up from people like Peter Serafinowicz, Doc Brown, Robert Popper, Graham Linehan, Josie Long, Holly Walsh, Tom Deacon and Adam Buxton.
Particular highlights were our first big gig at the Tabernacle (now a regular venue), a brilliant night at the awesome Doodle Bar (reviewed on Spoonfed) and working with Doc Brown on ‘Popcorn Original’ no-budget short film Hood Sportz:
I’m no longer actively involved because of Other Busy, but the night continues to be amazingly run by Jon and others. If you get the chance you should DEFINITELY check it out.
