The Cut was an in-house teen drama for BBC Switch, released as a 5 minute episode every weekday online and as a weekly 25 minute omnibus on BBC Two.
I was the interactive producer in the run-up to Series 1, responsible for producing the web build, content population, off-site activity (Facebook, Bebo, YouTube), the blog and building relationships around the BBC (e.g. with BBC Introducing).
It was interesting because not only did we need space for all the standard programme support gubbins, but the site was also where the show was broadcast first, every weekday, and then lived on in a permanent archive. So, all being well, you should be able to go back and watch from the start (as long as you’re in the UK).
I worked with amazing ACP/popstar Vicki Lutas to produce all of the online content for Series 1, including copy, photo galleries, promos, behind the scenes video and a weekly ‘Cut Special’ edition of the 5:19 Show. Like this one, with Dan Black, who did the theme song.

Hello, I’m George. When The Cut was on TV, lots of people said I was the biggest fan, because I was posting so much on the Facebook page and the official blog.
I’m running Writers of The Cut: Series 4 and Beyond, so I’m glad the word is spreading. I hope people are liking what we’re doing!
